I have tried to make this page clear enough to read without a legal dictionary. Its purpose is to explain where the work comes from, how it may be used, what information this site handles, and the boundaries that apply.
Independent work
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the original books, articles, papers, frameworks, applications, source materials, illustrations, and other works published under my name are my independent intellectual property.
They were conceived and created on my personal time, using personal resources, and were self-funded. They were not commissioned, sponsored, or funded by my employer, and they should not be understood as representing the views, policies, products, or positions of any current or former employer.
References to professional experience are included only to provide context. Examples and case narratives are generalized, anonymized, composite, or drawn from information already available to the public. No confidential employer, client, employee, or commercially sensitive information is intentionally disclosed.
How I use AI
I actively use AI in my work. This includes frontier models accessed through hosted services as well as smaller language models operated locally and offline. I use them as research instruments: to explore questions, examine alternative perspectives, organize material, test the clarity of an argument, assist with technical work, and copy-edit drafts.
The experiences, domain knowledge, conceptual framing, and professional judgment behind the work are my own. AI may help me work with the material, but it does not supply the lived context through which that material is interpreted. Where research depends on external facts or prior scholarship, I seek to verify important claims and citations against the original sources rather than treating a model’s response as evidence.
My position as a Human × AI researcher is one of active use with meaningful human oversight. For me, “human in the loop” is not a ceremonial approval at the end. It means questioning outputs, rejecting weak suggestions, checking sources, recognizing uncertainty, and deciding what is ultimately fit to publish.
Anything published under my name has been selected, reviewed, contextualized, and accepted by me. Responsibility does not pass to the model. I remain accountable for the claims, omissions, errors, interpretations, and wider implications of all public-facing work.
I do not provide any confidential employer, client, employee, or personally sensitive information to public AI services. Local and offline models may be used where greater privacy or control is appropriate. If AI has a material role in the method or findings of a particular research work, I will disclose that use within the work where relevant or required.
I do not treat AI systems as authors. They cannot hold responsibility, defend a judgment, disclose a conflict of interest, or answer for the consequences of publication. They are powerful instruments within the research and writing process. Authorship, interpretation, and accountability remain human.
Copyright and ownership
Unless a specific licence says otherwise, copyright in the original material remains with Aditya Roy.
A licence gives others certain permissions to use a work. It does not transfer ownership of the work. It also does not grant rights over names, trademarks, personal information, third-party material, or anything else that I do not have the authority to license.
The licence notice shown on an individual book, article, paper, application, repository, or download takes precedence over this general page.
Creative Commons works
Most books, essays, papers, and long-form written works are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International licence, commonly written as CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.
In plain language, this means you may copy and share the work in its original form when:
You give appropriate credit to Aditya Roy.
You identify the title of the work where practical.
You provide a link to the original source and the licence.
Your use is noncommercial.
You do not distribute an altered, abridged, translated, remixed, or adapted version.
You do not suggest that I endorse you, your organization, or your use of the work.
Commercial use, republication of an adapted version, translation, incorporation into a paid product, or any use beyond the licence requires separate written permission.
The licence does not restrict rights that may already exist under applicable law, including fair use, fair dealing, quotation, criticism, review, research, or other legal exceptions.

MIT-licensed materials
Some software, code samples, technical notes, and repositories are made available under the MIT License where this is expressly stated.
The MIT License generally permits use, copying, modification, distribution, sublicensing, and commercial reuse of the licensed software. The copyright notice and MIT permission notice must remain with copies or substantial portions of that software.
Only material accompanied by an MIT licence notice should be treated as MIT-licensed. The licence file within the relevant repository or distribution is the controlling text.
Entropy of Us
Entropy of Us is offered as a public-good project and as a reference implementation of ideas explored in my wider work.
The application is free to use, contains no advertising, and is designed to generate no revenue. It is not a funnel into a paid service, and personal information is not treated as a commercial asset.
Describing the application as a public-good project does not place the application, its design, written content, visual assets, or underlying concepts in the public domain. Unless a component is expressly released under an open-source licence, the applicable copyright and other rights remain reserved.
Any source code released separately is governed by the licence contained in its repository. Distribution through the Apple App Store is also subject to the applicable App Store terms.
Educational and informational purpose
The material on this site is provided for education, research, reflection, and general information.
It is not legal, employment, medical, psychological, financial, investment, cybersecurity, or other professional advice. Nothing here creates a consultant-client, lawyer-client, therapist-client, fiduciary, or other professional relationship.
Frameworks, examples, applications, and research instruments should be considered thoughtfully within their own context. They should not be used as the sole basis for employment decisions, clinical decisions, legal conclusions, or other consequential actions affecting another person.
No warranties
The work is offered in good faith, but it is provided “as is” and “as available.”
I do not promise that every page, publication, application, model, link, or example will always be complete, current, uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose. Research evolves, technologies change, and reasonable people may interpret the same evidence differently.
You remain responsible for how you use the material and for obtaining appropriate professional advice where necessary.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I am not responsible for losses, damages, claims, or consequences arising from reliance on, use of, or inability to use this site, its publications, applications, code, external links, or related materials.
Nothing on this page excludes or limits any responsibility that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Privacy and data
I do not operate this site as a data-collection business.
I do not actively maintain a visitor database, advertising profile, mailing list, or marketing-tracking system through this site. I do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. There is no direct contact form. Links for questions, permissions, corrections, or conversation lead to my LinkedIn profile.
The infrastructure and platforms used to publish or deliver this site may automatically process limited technical information. This can include an IP address, browser type, device information, request time, security logs, and aggregate traffic measurements. I receive only the information made available through those platforms, generally in aggregated form, and do not use it to build individual visitor profiles.
Some publications and projects are hosted by external platforms, including LinkedIn, SSRN, Zenodo, ResearchGate, GitHub, Apple, Google, and others. When you follow a link to one of those services, its own privacy policy, cookies, account requirements, and terms apply.
If a particular application, research instrument, or interactive feature handles information differently, it will provide a more specific notice. That specific notice will take precedence for that service.
