Entropy of Us App

Human Observability.
Observe what repeats. Understand what it means. Change what matters.
Entropy of Us is a private space to notice what repeats, what changes, and what quietly asks for attention. Most software is designed to capture your attention. This instrument is designed to return it. No cloud. No tracking. No accounts.

Entropy of Us was built independently, outside any commercial roadmap, advertising model, or engagement strategy. It is an experiment in a simple idea: Technology can be useful without becoming demanding. If the instrument helps you notice something important, then it has already succeeded. Thank you for spending a few moments with it. I wish you clarity, recovery, and enough quiet to hear your own signals.
Designing the App.

Entropy of Us is not just a consumer application. It is a functional exploration of Conscious Cybernetics. Built for Professionals such as Enterprise practitioners, HR leaders, and system architects, this tool demonstrates how organizations can measure the gap between operational demands and cognitive-biological reality.
It bridges cybernetics, occupational psychology, and structural software design to eliminate what I call "Dignity Debt" for a forthcoming paper. This app is the reference implementation.
Human x AI Product Thesis.
Modern software is engineered to optimize you and extract your engagement. Every notification, streak, and score is a small claim on your attention. Patterns rarely appear all at once. They emerge through quiet signals. It is possible to find those underlying patterns that cause a desired change by enabling a 'pull' rather than a 'push' from external stiluli of change management. Furthermore, this is achievable with complete privacy by architecture (not verbal commitment) on users' device without any obligations, financial or otherwise.
Entropy of Us refuses that grammar.
It does one thing: it helps you notice. Seven small instruments record fragments of an ordinary day until a shape begins to emerge. There are no scores. Nothing to win. Nothing to compare. Only what you observe in yourself.
Human Observability Instruments.
- Fuel Tank: Notice your capacity and decision-making energy.
- Threat Log: Capture what activates your nervous system.
- Signal Check: Separate meaningful signals from ambient noise.
- Friction Lab: Experiment with recovery and healthy resistance.
- Loop Closer: Track open commitments and mental burdens.
- Response Gate: Observe your reactions and sort incoming demands.
- Cool State: Notice how you wind down at the end of the day.
Public good, not typical App.
Entropy of Us is, and will remain, perpetually free. It is a philosophical statement, and a reference implementation for Experiential Software Architecture: software that respects the interior life of the person using it. Motivation is applied AI research using self-funded means, not monetization.
- Trust by Architecture: No servers. Nothing to leak, because nothing leaves your device.
- Honest Transaction: No subscriptions, no upsells (nothing to sell), no premium tier hidden behind a paywall.
- Built to Last: Offline capable. It works the same on day one and year ten.

FAQs
(Frequently Asked Questions)
Entropy of Us helps make recurring patterns visible. It is designed for people who sense that something keeps repeating in their lives but struggle to see the shape of it while they are living through it. The instrument helps you observe attention, energy, friction, recovery, unfinished commitments, and reactions over time.
- How often should I use it?
There is no correct way to use this instrument. Use it when it is useful. Ignore it when it is not. There are no streaks, no reminders, and no penalties for absence.
What happens if I become overwhelmed and stop logging?
Nothing. The app does not punish silence. When observations disappear, the system simply acknowledges that it does not know what happened and avoids making assumptions.
Is this another productivity app?
No. Productivity software helps you do more. Entropy of Us helps you notice more. The goal is not optimization. The goal is observation.
I am carrying a lot right now. How may this App help?
When life becomes noisy, patterns become difficult to see. The instrument helps separate meaningful signals from ambient noise. Over time it reveals what repeatedly drains energy, what supports recovery, and what deserves attention.
What should I do with the weekly Mirror reflection?
Read it slowly. That is enough. The Mirror is not a report card, diagnosis, or evaluation. It simply reflects back what appeared repeatedly during the week.
Is my data private?
Yes. No accounts. No cloud storage. No advertising. No telemetry. Your observations remain on your device.
Will this ever become a subscription product?
No. Entropy of Us is released as a perpetual public good, as a reference architecture for a research (to be published). There are no premium tiers, feature gates, or planned subscriptions for this instrument. The whole point of this one-person work is to demonstrate that if there is good intent, Apps can be designed and sustained beyond the commercials.
What do you expect from me as a user?
Very little. Use it honestly. Use it when it helps. Ignore it when it doesn't. Mostly, though, I simply wish you well. The world already contains enough software asking things from people. This instrument was designed to give something back instead, to demonstrate the point of a different architecture of designing human systems.
Why is there no Android App?
This is a reference implementation of my AI research on minimizing 'Dignity Debt', that needs a 'walk the talk' approach. As a sole researcher on personal time and resources, I chose Apple due to standardized hardware. Android works on various hardware platforms and form factors, exploding the scope of design and testing for a solo researcher.
I am an applied AI researcher and this isn't a commercial venture 🙂 hopefully the Experiential Architecture paper would enable and inspire more developers to come up with something like this in Android.
Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 2026.
Privacy by architecture, not by promise.
- What we collect: Nothing. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking.
- Where data lives: 100% on your device. We have no cloud.
- Data sharing: Impossible, as we possess no data to share.
- AI Features: All intelligence is processed strictly on-device via Apple Intelligence.
Provenance and Intellectual Property
The Application serves as a reference implementation of Experiential Software Architecture. It is developed entirely as an independent research initiative, utilizing personal funding, private hardware, and uncompensated personal time. All associated intellectual property, source code, and design architectures remain the exclusive, independent property of the Developer, strictly separate from any current or former employment obligations.
I built this app as a personal research project to prove that technology can treat people with dignity. It was designed entirely on my own time, using my own resources, and I will never charge money for it. It is my independent work, completely separate from my day job, given freely to the world as a public good.
Medical and Psychological Disclaimer
The Application is an observational software instrument and does not constitute medical, psychological, psychiatric advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not a substitute for professional healthcare, therapeutic counseling, or clinical intervention. The Developer assumes no liability for the interpretation or application of any reflections or data generated by the Application.
Entropy of Us is not therapy, diagnosis, or crisis care. It is simply a mirror to help you notice your own patterns. If you are experiencing sustained stress, burnout, or distress, please put the app down and seek support from a qualified healthcare professional.
Data Collection, Storage, and The Public Good
The Application is provided as a perpetually free public good under the Conscious Cybernetics framework. The Application uses a strict local-first architecture that's on-device (AES-256). We do not collect, transmit, store, or process any personally identifiable information, usage analytics, or telemetry on remote servers.
Because this instrument is a declared public good perpetually, you are not the product. All your entries and reflections stay exactly where they belong: physically on your device. We have no cloud, so we literally cannot see your data. No mechanism exists for data harvesting.
Third-Party Sharing and Monetization
The Developer does not integrate third-party advertising networks, data brokers, or social sharing SDKs into the Application. The Application contains no monetization mechanisms, in-app purchases, or subscription models.
We will never sell your data because we do not have it, and we do not run ads. The app is entirely free, forever, with no hidden upgrades or traps.
On-Device Processing (Apple Intelligence)
Any semantic synthesis or pattern observation generated within the Application relies exclusively on on-device processing frameworks provided by the host operating system. No user input is transmitted to external Large Language Models or third-party APIs.
When the app helps you reflect on your week, it does all the thinking right on your phone. Nothing is sent to external servers or anywhere else on the internet.
Data Retention and Deletion
As all data is encrypted and stored locally via the host operating system's secure enclaves, the user retains absolute sovereign control over data retention. Uninstalling the Application will permanently and irrecoverably delete all associated cryptographic keys and local records.
You are in total control. If you want to erase everything, just delete the app from your phone. Since we do not have a backup server, deleting the app wipes the slate clean forever. This is designed to be unrecoverable hence no backend exists.
